Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) constitute a legally binding agreement between you (“User”, “you”) and the operator of Tariffin (“Tariffin”, “we”) regarding your use of the services offered at tariffin.com(the “Service”). By accessing, registering, or otherwise using the Service you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. The Service

Tariffin is a tariff-intelligence SaaS for cross-border e-commerce sellers, forwarders, and customs teams. Features include but are not limited to:

  • AI-powered HS classification suggestions;
  • Tariff lookup and comparison across 13 major jurisdictions (US, CN, EU, UK, JP, KR, IN, AU, CA, MX, BR, VN, TH);
  • Landed-cost estimation;
  • Customs policy news and subscriptions;
  • Lark Bitable integration and API access (paid plans).

2. Accounts

  • Accounts are created via email Magic Link or Google OAuth — no passwords.
  • You are responsible for all activity under your account and for the security of your email.
  • Account sharing, transfer, or resale is prohibited.
  • You may delete your account at any time from Account Settings; data will be handled per Privacy Policy §4.

3. AI Output — Important Disclaimer

⚠ HS classifications, tariff rates, and landed-cost figures provided by Tariffin are informational only and do not constitute customs declarations or legal advice.

Final classification is determined by the destination customs authority. You should independently verify results or consult a licensed customs broker / customs attorney for high-value shipments. Tariffin is not liable for declaration errors, back-duties, port detention, or compliance risks arising from reliance on Service output.

4. Data accuracy

Our tariff data sources include:

  • Official customs websites scraped by our crawlers (USITC / GACC / EU TARIC / HMRC and 16 other authorities);
  • Hand-curated policy news;
  • Chapter-level defaults (only when not covered by crawler; UI marks these as “not crawler-verified”).

We strive for accuracy but make no warranty of completeness or timeliness. Major policy changes may have a 24-72h crawl lag. Authoritative source is the official customs publication — every rate links back to its primary source on the page.

5. Plans and billing

Tariffin is currently in public beta. All features — AI classification, tariff lookup, REST API, batch jobs, Lark Bitable integration, query history — are free for any logged-in user, with no per-call cap and no paywall.

When paid plans become available, we will notify you in advance via email and in-app banner. Existing user data and issued API keys will be preserved. Detailed plan terms, refund policy, and invoicing procedures will be published at that time.

6. Acceptable use

You shall not:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation;
  • Use automation, scraping, or brute-force requests to bypass rate limits;
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to obtain source code;
  • Use the Service to facilitate smuggling, money laundering, tax evasion, or other unlawful activity;
  • Upload illegal, infringing, obscene, or violent content via inputs;
  • Infringe the IP or privacy of Tariffin or any third party;
  • Interfere with the Service or harm other users’ experience.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules immediately and without prior notice, and reserve all legal rights.

7. Intellectual property

  • Code, design, brand, copy, and aggregated datasets belong to Tariffin and are protected by copyright, trademark, and international treaty.
  • Free users may view and copy modest amounts of data for personal use; large-scale scraping, mirroring, resale, or training third-party AI models is prohibited (and violates robots.txt as well as these Terms).
  • Paid users may make programmatic API calls within plan limits.
  • Product descriptions and queries you submit remain yours; you grant us a non-exclusive worldwide license to operate the Service and generate de-identified aggregate statistics.

8. Availability

We target 99.5% monthly availability SLA for paid users (best-effort for free users). Force majeure (earthquakes, war, government order), third-party outages (Supabase / Vercel / DeepSeek), and scheduled maintenance are excluded from SLA.

9. Termination

  • You may delete your account at any time; data handled per Privacy Policy §4.
  • We may immediately terminate access for breach of Terms.
  • If Tariffin shuts down entirely, we will give 30-day notice to all paid users and pro-rate refunds.

10. Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

  • The Service is provided “AS IS” without warranties of any kind, express or implied (including merchantability, fitness for purpose, non-infringement).
  • Tariffin is not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or punitive damages (including declaration errors, lost profits, business interruption, data loss).
  • Tariffin’s aggregate liability is capped at the subscription fees you paid in the previous 12 months.

11. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China(excluding conflict-of-laws). Disputes shall first be resolved by good-faith negotiation; if unresolved, submitted to the People’s Court having jurisdiction at Tariffin’s place of registration.

12. Changes

These Terms may be updated. Material changes will be communicated via in-site banner or email at least 7 days in advance. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
