Effective 2026-05-31Australia-UK FTA reaches third year, eliminates remaining tariffs on apparel
Under the Australia-UK FTA schedule, all remaining tariffs on UK-origin apparel and footwear are eliminated on 31 May 2026. Australian wine continues phased UK duty cuts.
Year-3 cuts under the A-UKFTA delivered:
- UK apparel (HS 61-62) to Australia: 0% (was 5% MFN)
- UK footwear (HS 64) to Australia: 0% (was 5%)
- Australian wine to UK: continued phase-down
- Tariff-rate quotas for Australian beef and lamb to UK widen
UK preferences require a valid origin declaration; the importer's-knowledge route is also available. Documentation retention 5 years.
